We believe in the age-old idea that Training has to do with improving our knowledge or physical ability to perform tasks; usually a combination of the two.  Sport training is associated with getting better; progressing from the base line we start out from towards future objectives or outcomes in mind.  Endurance training works best when we have specific and overall goals, and is always an ongoing and long term process.

Our Personal Programs are personal; we have no boilerplate training plans.  Each person or group has unique situations which need to be reflected in a training plan.  Our training plans are goal oriented, progressive and time specific, and include a variety of topics.

  • Sport Specific Training. This is sport specific technique or efficiency training. The basic skills of our chosen activity form the basis for how we approach and perform in our sport, and the better and more efficiently we move will increase our performance abilities. We work on sport specific technique using:
    • Hands-on Technique Training
    • Film and Video Analysis
    • Motion Specific drills and skill exercises
    • Strength training supporting skill and efficiency.

  • Training Intensity. We use Heart Rate Monitoring and in-the-field Blood Lactate Analysis to determine the optimum training intensity for:
    • Long Distance Endurance
    • Capacity, Upper End Aerobic Development
    • Lactate Tolerance
    • Maximal Output and Peaking

  • Strength Development.  A strong musculoskeletal system is essential in endurance and power-endurance sports, and figure prominently in our programs.  We work on a multitude of strength issues including:
    • Sport Specific Strength; strength development directly targeting the motions and technical specificity of an activity.
    • Endurance Strength; neuromuscular adaptation and strength development to sustain work over a long period of time.
    • Maximum Strength; development of neuromuscular response and maximum usable strength in desired body movements.
    • Force Application and Power Output.  Training designed to enhance specific force application to generate high and efficient power output, or force relative to time (and displacement).
    • Age Specific Strength Training.  This perhaps the most important, yet most overlooked strength and training component in physical training as we see it today.

  • Scheduling and Periodization.  Training to improve with a future goal in mind is time specific and progressive.  We design the schedule of training activities, volume and intensities, as well as the accompanying recovery cycles.  We think long term development and short term peaking cycles.
  • Alternative and Location Specific Training.  We understand that people have lives (besides sport!).  We have extensive experience in designing alternative training for individuals living away from their sport specific or desired training venues and having time available for a systematic training regiment.  We have clients living in major US and European cities and long distances away from skiing or optimal training venues.
