The Sun Valley XC-Masters is
a ski and fitness program held at the Sun Valley Nordic Center during the winter months. The program
is jointly facilitated by Jon Engen and the legendary Sun Valley Ski School at Sun Valley Resort. This is a season
long group instruction and training program, emphasizing efficient skiing skills as well as physical development
for cross-country skiing, along with fun social interaction. The program is based on progressive learning
and discovery through expert instruction and working out with like-minded people and high caliber skiers, and
is open to all men and women who cross-country ski on the recreational sport and fitness level. Our participants are
local recreational skiers to international racing champions and range from 30something to over 80 years of age.
The Program has no specific qualifications for entry, but we say people must be skiers. We do not teach
people how to stand up and move along on skis; we offer a program for people who are skiing to become better technical, efficient
and fit skiers. Some of our participants are racers, others are not. Ski racing in itself
is not a goal for this program, personal development and well-being are. If you wonder if this program is right for
you; please contact us or someone already in the program or contact Jon Engen at 208-726-5884 or email xcskicoach@cox.net.
We are confident the Sun Valley Masters and the services of www.xcskicoach.com are among the the best learning and training opportunities anywhere, and we back that up with a proven record. Likewise,
we believe the Sun Valley Ski School offers the best learning opportunities for the basics of cross-country
skiing and work closely with their programs.
