is our motto promoting Fitness, Personal Development
and Well-being through Active Sports in an era when passive lifestyles, growing waist lines and self inflected diseases are
overtaking the population.
Jon Engen applies decades of coaching and competitive
experience from 13 countries to sports training and programs for the active adult population.
Entering the US as an engineering student at Montana State University in 1980, he was a National level cross-country
ski racer in his native Norway, and quickly joined the US skiing scene and was a shoe-in for the lifestyle of the western
mountains. Jon continued to pursue his passion for sports after college, competing in both cross-country and biathlon,
while employed as a Professional Engineer.
Jon represented the United States internationally,
competing
in three consecutive Olympic Games; Cross-country Skiing in Calgary 1988, Biathlon in Albertville 1992 and Lillehammer 1994.
He placed in the top 20 in the World Cup of both his sports, and found occasions to rub elbows with the worlds very best in
international competitions. He also posted wins in the US Olympic Trials, North American Championships and a variety
of events across the country for many years, and consistently came up with good results in summer and winter sports.
Jon is still active; he has won numerous World Championship titles in Masters Skiing, a number of State Championships in cycling
events, and often hang with the faster crowds in ski marathons in the US and Europe.
Over
the last four decades, Jon has been in sports competition, coaching, study, writing, research organization and leadership.
He is currently the Chairman for Cross-country and a Director in the US Ski and Snowboard Association, Vice President of the
Idaho Olympians, and Nordic Athletic Advisor for Rossignol Ski Company.
